bad computer??????
The other day i tried to start up my truck but it wouldnt. I charged the battery and put it in and tried again. Got it to turn over but wouldnt start still. When i let off the key the lights and computer were clicking in unison. I couldnt hear the fuel pump so i changed that thinking that was the problem but its still doing the same thing. My voltage gauge and fuel gauge are all the way down to zero but i have power in the cab. I know the tank has gas in it from changing the pump. Im wondering what this could be. I want to get a new pcm and put it in but dont know if theres something else wrong that could short out the new one. Or if this is even the problem. My fuel pump wont start working unless i run a jumper from the battery post to the relay if that helps. I would appreciate any advice from anyone before i push the dam truck off a cliff. Thanks.

It's got to be something electrical. We tried shooting starter fluid into the carb (probably a bad a idea but oh well) and can't get it to fire. We're guessing it's a bad ground or a frayed wire somewhere. I cleaned the ground and pos terminals and installed a new battery but it's still faulting. Going to check continuity for the ground and see if there are any bad/frayed wires. Thanks for your help btw.

Nada spark or fuel. Tested fuel pressure with the key on and nothing. Also hooked up a diagnostic unit and couldn't get it to connect. Still have to check connections, ground etc. Next step will probably be a new PCM.
My mechanic thinks I reversed polarity while originally trying to jump the battery with a charger but I know that wasn't the case. I might be on the short bus now and then but that's something I've never done or could forget.
