First, check and make sure that the brake lights work, if they don't, check the fuse. There is also a cable to the shifter that may have broken.

Okay now I thought I was stuck in park one time but I had put my car in park with brake on and it rolled back a bit after I let off the brake. When I came back I had a hell of a time pulling the shifter out of park. I didn't think of it till after I was driving about the rolling back put a lot of pressure on the parking pin. Not sure is trannys still work the same these days? What was theproblem anyway?

The new avengers have had problems with the brake lite switches. If the shifter doesn't move on manual override, ck the brake switch. This also the same problem with sebring too.

Hi Friend,
It's better to consult service centre. It happens mainly due to automatic transmission fluid.Filling jiffy lube will be helpful in this regard.

The automatic Transmission "shifter" was broke.
Part # 5273244AJ
Dealer said: Removed shift bezel and found shifter to be broken. Removed and replaced shifter module.
