I have an 04 Ram 1500 5.7 HEMI 4doors 4WD and I would like to replace my spark plugs. My friend told me I had 16 plugs?? Is it true?? Which spark plugs would you recommend??? If you have a part# for me that would be much appreciated!!
Yes you have 16. Get the NGK or Champion copper plugs. Do a search for spark plugs and you will find a lot of reading that will answer all of your questions.
a hour? It took that long just to open up all 16 plug cartons LOL! You either had help, were in a big hurry, or really lucky lol.
Getting some of those coil pack bolts back in was probably the hardest part in my opinion. Also, if you are short or have small arms, good luck or find something to stand on.
16 Champion coppers, the stock number is 570. The plug number is RE14MCC4, and the gap is .045. Get some grease for the boots and put antisieze on the threads of the plugs.
i changed my plugs today and its took about a hour not as bad as i have read on here plus i cleaned my tb while i was at it
you did 16 plugs and cleaned the TB in a hour? Dang it man, next time you do this make a video I would pay to see that. You musta been JUMPIN!
To the OP go with Champs or NGKs and you wont go wrong.
this wasnt my first time changing a set of spark plugs i have changed alot .... first time for the hemi and yes it took about hour .... im 6'2 so reaching the plugs was easy the coil packs bolts came out it about two seconds had an electric racket i used on them ... and the plugs wasnt that hard to reach .... when i start something i like getting it done so i dont jack around
I cheated too. I had one of my kids friends crawl up inside the engine compartment and change the back 2 on the passenger side. He's 5'2" and all of 120lbs. I'm 5'10" and 280 lbs. That was the best $10 I ever spent. LOL
