Ranch hand grill guard or bumper?? HELP
Hey y'all, well i had a close call with a deer a couple of weeks ago that ran me off the road, fortunately there was no damage to my truck or my self. I had a chance to stop by ranch hand outlet store here in san antonio and check out some bumpers that might prevent some damage to my truck in case i hit something. (Lots of deer where i live)
Well im between the ranch hand grill guard or the full bumper replacement , the guy from the store said the grill guard will provide the same protection as long as i hit the animal in the center piece where as the bumper gives me full protection. The grill guard costs 565 and the bumper replacement costs 926. What do you guys think i should go with, grill guard or bumper replacement, what are some pros and cons, im new to the truck world. If you have thee bumpers on your truck please post some pics!!
Heres a pic of the ranch hand grill guard & bumper on a 1500
Here is my truck for reference

Agreed in texas its a must, i do want to change the rear bumper but ranch hand has not come out with a replacement, thats one of the reasons i was leaning towards the grill guard.

The same 2500 also had a Rough Country rear bumper replacement as well. Both looked damn good and would be on my truck in a heartbeat if I didn't have a 4x2 Sport.

For either option, i vote yes! Im from oklahoma and i have the grill guard on the font, i did that for the reason they did not have the bumper replacement when i bought it. Even with that on there it make the front end sag, but i know of people with just grill guards that have hit deer and have them bounce off. I wont knock the full bumper replacement, but it adds alot of weight and cost so much money, for something the grill guard can do.
I am attaching a picture of what it looks like on my new truck, i can get more if you want...
But as i recall on the price i only think i paid like 450 or 500 for it to be installed.
