I didn't realize that I overfilled the ATF fluid until after I was driving and the transmission wouldn't shift into a higher gear. I siphoned out the excess so the level is back to normal, so is there a way to reset it to shift normally?

So what's it doing now?
- staying in low?
- in limp mode?
- shifting normally but rough shifts?
So you added too much or you drained and refilled?
When I did my last tranny service it took a few miles to get it working right. My guess was air bleeding out.
No I was just adding ATF through the "dipstick." I sneezed and the bottle slipped out of my hand and poured a good amount into the funnel so it went in. I didn't have anything to siphon it at home, so I drove to the store to buy a tube to fit down the dip stick tube. On the way there, that's when I noticed it wouldn't upshift when going 40+mph. I siphoned it in the store parking lot, but it still didn't shift out of the same gear it starts out in.
Is there something I can to do to "reset" it to work normally?
