Default how do you wire up a 4 wire o2 sensor

Ok i finally got another o2 sensor. This new sensor has a purple, white, grey, and black wire. The original sensor has 2 black wires, 1 blue and 1 white. What wire goes where? it did not come with instructions.
Also i scanned the dtcs before i did anything and catalyst effeciecy bank 1 was found, i believe the code was p0420. What does this mean? The threads on the bank 1 downstream sensor i'm changing got messed up when i was pulling it out. I was able to file down some of the threads and put it back in tight but after a few miles of driving my CEL came on. I'm just curious because my Gas mileage has dropped a little.

Thats going to hard if not impossible to do without more info. What other O2 did you get? Any paper work with it to let you know what wire is what? Why didnt you get a stock O2 for the ram so you could just plug it in?

They are about $25 at Autozone for the HEMI

I know all mine have 4 wires, 2 of them are to heat the 02 sensor, so the truck gets an accurate reading as soon as its started. I don't know if that will work. I guess you could just connect the two the work the actual sensor, and leave the other two out. Not quite sure.

It is a Delphi sensor from ebay. I checked everywhere for a plug in kind but all they had was universal types and nothing under 49 bucks. I found out what the new sensor wires mean. Thanks joe for the diagram. exactly what i was looking for. I got a question though the diagram for the delphi sensor shows 2 heater wires. I hooked one to the heater control then one to the return. I put it in and it throws a code for 1/2 heater circuit high

By using joehemi's o2 sensor plug diagram what wire hooks to wire 1 and 3? The new sensor says it has 2 heater wires. Does it matter what heater wire goes to the factory plug? I know one at least goes to the heater control but what does the o2 return (down) mean? if i had known this was going to be a headache then i would have just found a factory sensor with the plug already on it.
