Question Which Brand is Best Trailer Hitch

I am looking at Class III\IV trailer hitches for '95 Dakota 2wd\6 cyl. Having read what seems like 100 posts regarding trailer hitches, I have not seen any discussion of the best manufacturer\model. I am considering Reese #36047 (custom), #37042 (multi), #37152 (multi) and Curtis #13145 and 13280. Here is info. on these hitches: Hitches.pdf. Can someone comment on their experience with these hitches, especially ease of installation.

Thanks much!

I'm going to say as long as the rating is what you need for what your towing any of them will do great. As far as brand names Reese, Hidden Hitch, Draw Tite, U-Haul.

Any of those names will do great. I would say take a look at them. My personally preference is the square tubing kind. The longer mounting brackets to the frame are best. The thicker the tubing/metal is better. Oh yea don't forget the installation. Most are going to be a simple bolt in no drill.

Thanks for the info. I had understood that the square type is stronger. Some of the "multi" units state in their descriptions that holes must be drilled. Am I to assume that the higher priced "custom fit" models require no drilling?

Thanks again!

That is my guess.
