License plate light problem

License plate light problem
So when my license plate light bulbs died, I went to change them and it seemed like the plug wasn't clipped into the light socket or anything. Almost as if it was glued in there. Of course when I removed the plug from the actual socket I can't put it back in and get it to stay as there doesn't appear to be anything for it to hook onto. What's the best way to fix this? What's the proper way to change these things?

License lights have a one piece mount made of a white plastic material. Over time, the heat from the bulb deteriorates the plastic and the socket part separates from the mount.
Perhaps someone else has effectively repaired the break but I've tried bubba glues, super epoxies and even gas tank repair guck. The heat from the bulb simply breaks them down in a matter of weeks.
You will have to replace the wiring harness which A. is a DWO part and B. it means the other side will also fall apart soon.
You must be blessed...I've replaced the harnesses on both sides at least twice since I've owned my truck. Whatever you do, don't run brighter(hotter) bulbs, it only accelerates the deterioration.

I looked on LMC and they do have them for $16.95 or something. Then it was $10 something in shipping, plus I have to wait for them to come. So I ended up calling the dealer. Turns out they have them for $19 and they are in stock. So when I factor in shipping with LMC the dealer is actually cheaper. So I'm just going to get them there and I can get them today.
