After receiving a P0500 code, replacing the output speed sensor, changing transmission oil and filter, the above codes are now being thrown. Does anyone have links/pointers/tips/suggestions on what to diagnose/replace to resolve these?

My first guess with all those specific codes is something happened with the transmission control module and that a "Quick Learn" reprogram of the TMC will get you going again. 731 and 732 have to do with gear ration and pinion factor. My second guess is with all those codes you're looking at major problems, but I'd lean towards my first guess. A Mechanic with a Snap-On MT2500 should be able to do the quick learn otherwise probably a dealer is your best bet. It only takes a few minutes to do it but they'll probably hit you for .5 to 1.0 hrs labor. Good Luck

 

Forgive my ignorance...what is a "Quick Learn" reprogram and how does it happen?

 

It's a computer hookup procedure where they re-flash settings into the computer. These trannies have a learning computer that learns from your driving habits to optimize performance, but as with anything it has to have strating values to learn from, hence "quick learn". Sometimes power surges, changed components and such can clear the TCM (transmission control module) so it needs this procedure.

 

This makes sence, I just got a 97 Intrepid (208k) from the original owner. I went to downshift into a lower gear when I got the MIL. Something I don't think the original owner would do. This information helped.

 

i have 7 codes that my scanner picked up on my 2000 dodge stratus es. with auto stick. here they are.

those codes came on before i started to replace the tranny fluid and filter. i have not started the car yet after i replaced with new fluid and filter. any idea what these codes are would help me gladly. can never get a straight answer online so i turned to this website hope it works. thanks
