Default 99 Won't hold idle. or keep charge.

My turck will run fine for a couple of day. Than I park it. The next day it won't start. I have to hook it up to a charger for about 15min. Then It will start and not hold it idle. I have to kee the rpm over 2000 for it to stay running. If I drive down the street and stop at a sign the truck will die. It even does the same thing on the highway when I am going 55 and take my foot of the accelerator the truck will die. And it won't kick back on. I have to put it in nutral and crank the key as I am driving down the road. After about 30min of driving eveything seems to be norman. And it is holding it idle. But the next morning comes around and it is the samething over and over. I have had the batter and alternator tested at autozone & Advaced Auto. Both of them said that the battery and alternator were ok. Does anyone have any Ideas on this?

Thanks

Replace your battery.

It is a well documented thing here that if your battery is low the alternator cannot produce enough output to run the PCM on idle and that is why you have keep your foot in the throttle. Replace the bad battery!

I jusst had a similar problem where Autozone tested my battery and said it was good. Then I took it to a Electrical Shop and they said the battery was toast. Autozone cant do enough tests to determine if the battery has a bad cell or not. They only do a resistance test. So it is possible there is a bad cell in the battery, no matter what Autozone says.

+1 on the battery being bad. Replace and be done with it.
