2003 Neon coolant leak
I have a 2003 Neon and I have a coolant leak.
When I look from under the car, the leak is coming down from the passenger side of the Oil pan. I have tried to see where the leak originates but i can't see anything.
I did look up a video and it says that it could be a seal on the water pump.
Can anyone help? Will a bottle of Prestone leak seal work?
Does anyone have a diagram of the cooling system that would help me figure out what i need to fix.
thanks

its likely your waterpump or the hoses to the waterpump as this is the ony thing really on the passenger side
there is no fix in a bottle unfortunatley
when you decide to do the waterpump do the timing belt at the same time as they are both located in the same spot
still hunting for a good image for you

you can do it, Nuts n Bolts
pumps like 80 bucks at the partsource
think the good belts worth about 75
throw in a tensioner for 50
and a jug of coolant 15
all in all 220 +/-
will take you the better part of the day. or you could easily finish it in a weekend
you will need a few tools: nothing that couldnt be got at princess auto

I ordered a Gates timing belt kit off of Amazon. Timing belt, tensioner and water pump for $85. It says this can be shipped to Canada.

A new motor mount wouldn't be a bad idea while you are in there. Anchor 2947 Rear Mount.

Take a mirror and check under the plastic water neck where the thermostat lives. Water can leak between the t-stat housing and cyl head. I had the same thing happen recently while still trying to change water pump, timing belt, alternator. It looked like it was coming from water pump area but was trickling down the side of the cylinder head and onto oil pan flange. Make sure that freeze plug behind the tensioner isnt leaking either.
