Default Electric fan swap

I have a 98 5.2 4X4 and was wondering if anyone has taken the fan and fan clutch out and replaced it with an electric one. If so what all do I need and how hard is it? Will I see a difference in power and fuel economy? thanks.

Here's what we have in the DIY section. HTH.

Here's what a trusted member did to swap out his clutch and electric fans for a more powerful electric one to replace both stock fans:

It's all personal preference. The error margin for an electric fan is typically higher so I'll stick with my clutch fan.

the clutch fan is more reliable, and cools much better for the cost than an electric fan does, if you do alot of towing the clutch fan is your best bet for reliability.

If you swap to full electric and remove the clutch fan, you would want to leave the auxiliary electric fan installed as that one engages during A/C use and overheating. I would move it to the front though.

Dodge (or anyone else) doesn't go full electronic fans because most trucks are used for towing and they promote heavy duty use. They are not a car with a trans axle. A clutch fan when fully engaged is going to bring in more air then any fan out there on the market, this will cool that motor faster and that holds them less financial responsibility.

Then no need to relocate the old electric fan as you said. You would just remove the shroud and the clutch fan and install the large E-fan with a temp sensor and relay.

Sorry to revive this but I still don't know what I need to make the mounting brackets completely. This is something I am very serious about doing.
