Default Dodge repair history

I just purchased my 2007 ram 1500 5.7 4x4, which i love already. However after owning the vehicle for a little while... After further inspection, i notice the front timing cover and cylinder heads look brand new.

I used to work as a service manager for nissan dealer, and we had the ability to search any repairs made at dealerhips under a certain vin #

does anyone here work for dodge or know of a way i can search for possibly any factory repairs made to the vehicle i purchased.

The reason im concerned is the vehicle i got was fully loaded,rims/tires,cat back exhaust, cold air intake, tinted windows, lights, sat radio... But the truck seems to be eating up the gas like crazy.

Scared i might of bought someone else's problem child.

please help

What kind of mileage are you getting? It's only rated like 12city/18hwy.

Thats about normal for city driving. My 2007 5.7 gets anywhere from 9-11 mpg in the city, no matter how soft I touch the throttle. Highway driving mixed in will improve your average of course, but if you drive the majority in the city expect these numbers.

My 5.2 Durango had almost exactly the same numbers in the city as well.

Its sad but true that Hemis love gas.

With that being said, what size rims and tires do you have? How many miles? You can try resetting the PCM to make the PCM relearn your driving habits.

You have 345hp out of 345cid pushing 5300lbs (at least). Not a good recipe for mileage, MDS or not.

Might be time for plugs. A TB clean can't hurt, either. A 4x4 is gonna suck the stuff down, for sure.

Do you know what maintenance has been done to her? Tranny/diff/oil change/plugs? If you're not sure do em! To reset the 'puter, just pull your battery cables for 15 or 20 minutes, or you can just touch em together. There is also a fuze you can pull, but dunno if your 07 would be the same as my 04. Theres always the search feature.
