Default Durango Seats

Are the seats in the 1st gen Durangos the same throughout all the years? I have a guy here locally that has a full set of nice leather seats that he is asking $250/obo. I was wondering cause I would like leather instead of my cloth. Nothing wrong at all with my cloth seats, I just think I will like the leather better.

nope, the front buckets change w/ the interior i believe, however they SHOULD still fit (mounting points stayed the same throughout) even if they arent the style that came in your truck.

I would stay with the cloth!......IMHO

Reason I say that is they are warm in the winter and cool in the summer. With Leather they look great but they are cold and hard in the winter and make your *** and back sweat in the summer. Sure they are easy clean up, especially with kids, but I cant stand leather.

i agree with hydra, i hate my leather, if i came across a full set of color matching seats in cloth i would very likely jump on them as long as both fronts were powered

Ya'll are crazy. Get some tint and it won't be so hot in the summer, and fix your AC if it doesn't work and you won't worry about your *** or back sweating. Cold in the winter? Nah! That's why (some) leather seats have heaters! There has never been a time where I've regretted going from cloth to leather.

All seats 1st gen (Durango) will bolt in. Even if you have a bench front seat, the bolting locations are all the same. Of course if you have a bench front seat, you'll need under-floor ducting and a console to swap to buckets correctly.

I honestly would get the leather if you get the chance. I live in Arizona, which is the hottest place I've ever lived b far, and my 1999 Durango has 2 buckets, and 2 bench seats, all black leather and I love them. They are comfortable and easy to keep clean, which is a blessing since I have to kids under the age of 2.5 years old. Worst thing that happens is you end up not liking them and have them redone in something else...

It's completely up to the owners preference.

I had leather in my Durango and I have leather in my 2004 Taurus. Same thing back and forth. Now I didn't have heated seats.

I love the fact that my truck has cloth! Especally when I fart and my kids are right behind me, well it flows backward while leather stops the flow!......LMFAO.......Name: stink_bomb.gif

LMFAO hydra! However you do make a valid point and I am glad that I have cloth seats in mine because it's so much easier to take care of than leather. That and I don't have to worry about staining it because it already has plenty of stains in it!

i DO have the heated leather seats in mine, and my A/C blows so cold most other people cant stand it that cold, however i would STILL rather have cloth seats for the reasons hydra stated above (im NOT a little guy) and the fact that i dont stick to cloth in the summer.
