Unhappy battery terminal broken

I need some help with my 07 Ram 1500 with HEMI. Had to remove the negative battery connection today, and managed to break the clamp. can this clamp be replaced with any generic type or does have to be Dealer specific? (my dealer wants 80$, includes wires)

Thanks for any help

I would replace a $3 wally world clamp once a year before I gave the dealer (or anyone) $80 for a battery clamp and cable.

Problem with these trucks (and most if not all new vehicles for that matter) is the battery clamps are not replaceable anymore.

However you SHOULD have enough slack in the cable that you can cut off the broken clamp and put a generic one on.

they make crimp type, solder and screw type clamps. the easiest IMO are the screw type, you just loosen the screw, slide the cable in (with about 1/2" stripped) and tighten the screw...

use some good electric grease also to help prevent corrosion
