Default waterpump change

I had a shop change the timing belt-tenioner-water pump.They got the parts from Car Quest. Now the question is that the temp gauge runs a little higher then it did before with the air on and a hot day. Is this because the new pump may be a little different in design then the OEM?

-Did they happen to replace the thermostat with a higher temp one? Also could possibly be an air bubble in the cooling system....

I think they put the old coolant back in. Its orange. I got the pump-tenioner-timing belt done for $250 at a shop. And yes it was done because I got the old parts back.
Would orange colored antifreeze mean it might be the original factory fill?
Probably should change it.

I think the factory fill is a pinkish coolant? Orange, AFAIK, is Dex-Cool; the most horrible coolant invented. I'd drain and refill with green G05.

Yup. I'll be using the Peak or SuperTech when I change mine soon; whichever is cheaper there. G05 is just the basic green coolant.

even though the orange coolant is garbage it wont change the temp reading issue you originally asked about.

I think you may be right on the money about a different designed pump, perhaps less flow(likely). or they installed a hotter T-stat(unlikely).

and BTW shops have a buttload of parts layin around, believe it or not even some parts probably from your model. Just sayin i have NO doubt that the parts were changed just your evidence of proof has flaws lol

Green = Gold!!
