Default Shift Indicator: Light

Hi all,

2001 Dakota SLT Quad Cab, 4.7L

Does anyone have this same problem. The shift indicator light illumination comes and goes. It actually remains out more than it illuminates. Is this a common problem with Dakota's? Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Default Same Problem

I have a 2000 Dodge Durango and have the same problem. Where you able to fix it? If you did how?

Thank you

I don't know if your problem is the same as mine but my light goes on very low in the rpm range (like 1500 or so) telling me I should upshift on my 3.9 V6. it doesn't seem like it stays on very long and lights up so ridiculously early that I totally ignore it but seems like it's off way more that it's on. I figure that it's smart enough to realize that I'm not dumb enough to fall for it that it then gives up.

Quick fix. Take it to your dealer and tell them to disable the light.

It's a 2 minute fix with a DRB.

Can't pull the bulb, it's hardwired.
