How Easy is Replacing 4WD Ball-Joints?
Anyone have a link to replacing the ball joints on a 4WD?
I have never replaced ball joints. But my local "trusted" shop wants $338 to do the upper and lower passenger side ball joints. I have seen on here directions on how to do 2WD ball joints. But haven 't come across replacing 4WD ball joints on here yet.

Pulling a gdstock (i think).
It's about as easy as....
Hopefully HeyYou merges your similar threads together. That way it would reduce the confusion of multiple threads related to the same things you've got going.

Hey newbie. BITE ME! I already said that I checked the search. Didn't need you linking me to the search page. You would have gotten cuffed up side the head if you were sitting next to me. Even if you were a long time friend.
Read my post and you would see that the search pulled up replacing 2WD ball joints. Unless you actually did the search and found something more helpful, then I would appologize and follow your link.
Zman is the only one that can give me crap. He has earned that right. And as far as the multiple threads.....one is talking about the inspection and multiple issues. This was about ball-joints only.

It’s not that bad, about 2hrs a side, you will need a pickle fork tool and a ball joint press tool. In the picks you will see I have made up (cut to fit) my own adapter for this truck.
1: Jack up the front of truck and put it on jack stands (Block the back tires).
2: Remove tire
3: Remove brake rotor and caliper (Hang the Caliper with a zip tie somewhere)
4: Remove hub and axel as one piece
5: Remove upper ball joint nut
6: Loosen bottom ball joint nut ¾ off
7: Use the pickle fork on both ball joints till the outer C drops on the bottom nut (it will pop loudly)
8: Remove the bottom nut and then the outer C will come off
9: Using the ball joint press tool and adapters press out the upper ball joint, then the lower one.
10: Use the press tool to install the lower ball joint first then the top one
11: Start putting everything back together in the reverse order you took it apart.

Don't get all butt hurt. It's only Monday.
There are quite a few threads here that are right up your alley. Even going directly to Google brings one right back here to DF.
For instance, which takes you to another great thread.
How "easy" something is to do remains completely dependent on the amount of rust and the right tools in possession.
You must be new to getting crapped on. lol

"You would have gotten cuffed up side the head if you were sitting next to me. Even if you were a long time friend".
That's pretty strong stuff. I'm never happy about seeing anyone make reference to the use of physical violence against anyone. It's not like he shot your dog.
I know you apologized in general, but a specific apology for the violent reference might be in order. I'd PM this to you, but you said in in the public forum, so that's where I'm commenting on it.
I don't want you take this as "giving you crap". I don't want any hard feelings, and I'm not out to make you look bad, but I didn't want to let it slide either.
