Sounds high to me... non-original 383 - couldn't get bigger than a 340 in a 72 Challenger. How well was the conversion to big block power done? 150K on the engine... with no rebuild?? How was it equipped originally... was it a 4 speed from the factory? Original 340 car? 72's don't command the money that 70 & 71 examples do, and with that little info on it, sounds like a cobbled up mess to me. Pics would help though.

Originally in car was a 340, seen the 383 marking, orginal motor was taken out at about 1000k, I know 72 don't really bring crazy money but I figure I get it maybe 11G, and fix whatever needs repair which ain't too much max 5G. Spent, have fun with it on the weekends sell maybe 20 yrs from now if that, also completely rebuild. Motor during that 20yr process, I'm not balling and I don't have crazy money in the banko, so if I get a 70 71 fully restore it, 20K into it, which will take forever n I won't be able to enjoy the car till maybe I'm 45 since I'm 23, because they go for bout 10- 15 needing paint, which quality paint is 6-10K for show quality, original 4spd, also no pics due to guy lives far from me, n I seen the car already n checked it out, if I see him next time I would be driving out with it, if I don't well it wasn't ment to be

Wasn't available from the factory... I wondered whether they changed over to a big block K-frame(they are different from small block ones) or just different motor mounts, and if they went with the larger big block torsion bars. Being an original 340 4speed car makes it a little more valuable, although without the original engine that's subjective. At least the 4speed is original- I've seen a lot of 4 speed conversions that were hack jobs. If it's rust free and straight, might be worth the 11K you're willing to spend.
