Default Fan Controls Not Working on 2003 Dakota

Hey guys, I've got another issue now. Thought I'd run it past you...

I have already replaced the resistor, after that failed. I previously had the issue where the fan would only run on max power. That has been fixed. Now, the issue is that the fan will not come on at all.

I've checked the fuses; they all look good. Could it be the switch itself? Is there a relay that is in between? Any help is appreciated...

Thanks!

Could be the switch or the blower motor itself. Have you checked power to the blower?

Nope... Not yet...

I'm going to start tearing into it tonight. I just figured there might be a failing common that someone might be able to point to. For example, that resistor was an easy diagnosis. I went to the dealership and he diagnosed the fault in 10 seconds...

Had the same issue in a Town & Country van. Went thru 3 resistors, wires started burning off. Had to replace blower motor.

Hmmm... Bad blower motor, eh?

I'm sure the best bet it to get one from a wrecking yard but what do they tend to cost from an auto parts store/dealership?

I had the same thing happen to me. I replaced the resistor and it blew again the same day. I was told after that it is a good idea when changing the resistor to change the blower. I believe I have the same issue. Blow motor needs changed also.

Wish the guy at the dealership would have told me that when I bought the resistor...

I am assuming the reason the first resistor blew was due to an issue with the blower motor. If u have any luck let me know.
