Default 1995 Dakota Transmission help

I have a '95 Dakota with the 318 (Mag V8) which has a 46 RH tranmission in it. I need to replace my transmission. I would like to know:

A) What vehicles I can get a 46RH from that will bolt to my truck.
B) Where to get a transmission case for around $150 - $200.

Or

C) Where to get a cheap used 46RH for my truck.

Unfortunatly I'm a college student and money is tight, so spending ~ $1000 will not work for me.

If anyone has a 46RH that needs rebuilt and will fit this truck I'm also open to purchasing it from you.

A) 1992 - 1995 Dodge Dakota 318, ???? - 1995 Dodge Ram 318 are 2 that I know of. I'm sure you could grab one from an OBDI Dodge Ram Van 318 too. As long as its OBDI, and from anything with a 318 or 360, you should be fine.

B + C) your best bet for either of these would be to hit up your local junkyard and see what you can find. It will likely need a rebuild if you get one from the junkyard tho

some junkyards allow you to buy a warranty, if it doesn't work, bring it back and get another....

if you're looking for one that needs to be rebuilt why not just pull yours and rebuild it? are you planning to get a second one to rebuild then swap after the rebuild?

Thanks very much. This was really helpful.

Well, the problem is that my tranmission overheated and the planetary basicly disinigrated. Well after that the pieces of aluminum gouged out the the core. Most of my hard parts are still usable but the core is not.
