Default Subwoofer Installation

I currently own a 2002 Stratus R/T coupe with a 4cd in dash cd changer. I am looking to have my soundsystem installed within the next month and wanted to know if keeping the 4cd is worth the hassle. I really like having an in-dash cd changer and I really would hate to part with it. I have read some of the various articles and I have seen where some of you have by-passed certain aspects of the soundsystem. What I want to know is this....

1.) Is it actually worthwhile to keep the 4 disc changer in my car with my subs?

2.) How much of a real hassle is it to do all of this?

3.) If it's worthwhile, what all do I need to get to make it work?

I plan on taking pictures of my installation to post here and I wanted to know what is really the best route to go on this. I yanked my factory cd player out of my 01 Dakota and it never sounded as good with the aftermarket. I guess it's because of the Infinity Pre-amp system.
