Broken timing belt, p0339 code 2004 neon
Well i just finised fixing my transmission (wires going to output speed sensor bad ) was driving it Saturday and car cut off and loss power, checked codes and installed camshaft sensor and crank sensor, still nothing then finally noticed timing belt was broke, towed it home, (car has 191000 miles on it put new timing belt, water pump, mech tensioner and remanufactured head on it, lobe on cam messed up and low compression )well i put new timing belt, tensioner, and water pump on it again ,turned camshaft to watch intake valves on #1 cyl open then shut and turned a little more to line up camshaft timing mark, put small stick in #1 cyl spark plug hole got crankshaft at top dead center put on timing belt, turned twice by hand, timing marks looked lined up put it back together started up and idels great, but give it a little gas and runs rough, p0339 is code it regesters, it is possible im 180 degrees off in timing ? Off one tooth in timing? (I am 99% shure its right, was told if off a tooth would not run) or bent valve in head (runs really great at idle. Smooth and quiet) i dont know what to do i was also told to drive the car so computer could learn new sensors and after that it would be ok PLEASE HELP

in my experience, being a tooth off can allow it to idle great, but driving conditions are another story. you could very well be 180 off. it could be different with these engines as with others, hopefully someone who's a little more knowledgable with some specifics on these motors will chime in, but as far as i know, being a tooth off can definitely produce symptoms you describe.
if you have a bent valve, a compression check would tell you which one it is. since that's easier, i would check that first. however, with your p0339 (CKP sensor code) i'm willing to bet your timing belt is off.

Well would this car even run at 180the degrees off, i had the valve cover off, watched the valves open and close, turning the camshaft clockwise, i watched the #1 cyl intake valves open and shut and turned camshaft a little and lined up timing mark, i know crankshaft is on mark and TDC wether its compression stroke or exaust i dont know

I think it would run at 180 off, but its more likely its actually a tooth off. There is a specific way to put the timing belt on to ensure its put on correctly.
Bent valve, the easiest fix there is to replace the valve, so essentially a head gasket job. A lot easier than a motor swap, imo.
