Default 95 Ram 4x4 318 engine interchange

I have a 95 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with a 318 that blew up so rebuild is not a option, lol. What years and sizes will interchange without having to rewire or change the computer?

Honestly, Id just stick another 318 in there. Mopar really got it right, it can produce GOBS of power easily and since its a smaller displacement, it has the potential to get good MPG's. More displacement doesn't mean more power.

any 94-01 Magnum 318/5.2
if the new engine is not a 94-95, move your 95 intake and all sensors to the new engine.

fix the plenum too.

also watch out for the crank position sensor. those seem to like getting damaged when people do engine or transmission swaps.

Like stated any magnum motor. If its not a 94-95 then all you have to do is swap your intake maniffold with all the sensors on it.

well you will most likely want to take the intake off anyway just so you can fix the plenum which will cause tons of problems in the future. engines are soo much easier to work on when they are not in a truck.

It's just easier to extract more power from a larger engine.

There is no replacement for displacement.
