Default Constant tick changes with RPM's???

So i've been looking at all the pinging and knocking and ticking threads but haven't really seen any that relate to my sound im getting. Its a constant i guess you would say ticking sound that gets faster and a little louder or slower and a little quieter with the rpms if there high its faster and louder if i downshift it will tick really fast kinda loud then slow down as i start slowing down. So pretty much when i accelorate and the rpms are higher its louder and faster where as in low rpms its not as noticable. Does anyone know what this could be. Thanks for any input.

Have you tried an oil change? I've noticed my Dak will start ticking if I go over 5000... It's not loud but i can hear the engine more...

well i just bought it like 2ish weeks ago and they changed the oil then but i was gonna run some seafoam in it then switch it over to synthetic since its been doing that just haven't gotten around to it...i might also try some 89 or 93 octance gas today when i fill up im not really sure what knock or ping sounds like thats why i was asking.

Do you knwo where the ticking is comming from? It could be an exhaust leak.

actually your idea is good..

the stock exhuast manifold heat shields somtimes cut the manifold bolts off and if any of them are loose or gone it will cause an exhuast leak and make a ticking noise, the higher the rpm the faster the ticking gets.. if you let the truck idle and use your thottle cable to give it gas while your ear is by the exhuast manifolds you can pinpoint the bolt.. useally its the 2nd to last bolt or last one, if its not that, it could be vavle clatter, take off a valve cover and check your springs and lifters.

honestly i think its an exhaust leak mine madethat sound in the exact place ok look where your Y pipe attatches to the single pipe check around that seam cause its just clamped if your getting a leak there stuff some magnum steel up in the crack it'll clear right up

well today i got up under the hood and could hear it was coiming from the back of the passenger side so i couldn't really check it at the time but im gonna look for some loose bolts or bolts that aren't there anymore...hopefully thats what it is cuz its really annoying when the windows are up
