I've never seen a "stock" dodge, even R/T, with the fuel sync at +3. They were always at "0" unless someone messed with the distributor. Mine is ranging from +3-6.(on snap on and chrysler scanner)I just did a fuel sync on my neighbors 1999 Dakota R/T.(we put a cam in it) It was at "0" to start with and we put it at +2-4.
hmm.. mine must be reallllly ****ed up then.

What size cam you put in it and what sync did you set it at?

If you don't have a performance cam, I would leave it at "0". Your truck will get better fuel mileage and perform at it's best. But who knows, your truck might perform really well with the fuel sync around +3?(only the dyno knows!)I put a .544 lift with 218/228 duration @ .050 in mine and a .510 lift with 208/214 duration @ .050 in his R/T. We have his fuel sync at +2 to +4. The scanner doesn't stay at one number. I'm going mess around with my fuel sync when I get it dyno'd to see how big of a difference it makes. It seems like I have more torque when it's around +2. I only have 400 miles on the new engine so I'm going to wait till I at least get 2,000 miles on it before I start beating on it/dyno.

Ya when i did my sync test with the Snap on.. it was reading +6+7+8 at 800rpm while i was testing it..

so its a bit high.. and i run really rich (that could be the problem) ive never adjusted a Dist. before.

Is it a bitch or what.. anyway to turn the crank while moving the Dist itself..

It's really easy. Just loosen the distributor hold down bracket enough where you can turn the distributor. Hook up the scanner, start the truck, run the fuel sync test, and move the distributortill it gets to +4 or wherever you want it,tighten it back up,road test it!

Okay Im not too familer with a fuel sync. Your talking aboutmoving the distributer to adjust it. Is it Timing related? Is it on all OBD2? Is it on OBD1 And it sounds like the only way to check it is with a scanner right?

im with crazy4x4rt, i would like to know more about the fuel sync... i use to own a 00 dakota r/t and now i own a 03 dakota r/t. all i know is that the 03 feels slower, more slugish, it used alot more gas also... the dealer says that is normal and i don't know what i am talking about.

also i would like to make more power, what do you recommend for power adders..

thanks
