Default Newbie Air Intake/Exhaust Question

I know this has probably been beat to death, but I just picked up and 03 QC with the 4.7. I dont really care about gains at 4000 rpm, Im looking more for low end power. From what Ive read, its better to go single out rather than dual. Im not looking for something loud, just something "tuned". I had a Flowmaster 70 SUV on a 4.6 Expedition before and it sounded good but not overwhelming. What is a good muffler for this truck and should I go cat back or just have a muffler welded in?

Next question. What is a good air intake kit for the 4.7? I like the way the volant one is sealed, but am open to opinions.

Thanks
Sean

you wont gain any low end torque just by changing the muffler.

you would need a cat back system 3" if you want single, a hypertech programmer would be a good investment too i have a k&n fipk intake and im happy with it i dont think theres going to be a whole lot of difference between companys on the intake system other than price
