Default Dash removal... help.

pulling apart the dash on my '00 dak and need to get the defrost grill off and the service manual I have does not show it... the dashes are different. Looks to me like it's 7 or 8 screws up by the base of the windshield that need to come out, what else needs to be removed to get the panel removed? I have a hella anoying rattle up there and want to find it and fix it.

I know you can swing the dash out to the right, or to the left. Or both. All you have to do is just remove the door sills at your feet (pretty sure thats what there called). It overlaps the part that covers the left of your feet. Remove that, then their's 2 bolts. There on a swing and lock system. 1 on either side of the vehicle. After those are removed then you can swing the dash out. Not sure if this helps for what your trying to do. But it helped me fix the blower motor.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

I found this all out in one of those manuals that teach you to DIY. Taught me how to fix the blower motor. Worked really well. Very easy to understand. Tells you how to remove EVERYTHING on the dash. Best bet is to get one of those if your not to sure. Plus there always good for other situations.

thanks, I think that is more than what I need though. I'm only looking to remove the top dash pad to access what's under it.

was there any info on line for what you were looking at?

the dash is one whole piece, you have to take it out as a whole thing. how bad is the rattle? I would just put up with it.

bad enough to do something about it. so the cover where the defrost vents with the 7~8 screws doesnt come out easily? what about the dash bezel? does that pop off like the 2nd gen rams does?

has anyone seen a manual for the '97 thru '00s yet? the 2001 manual that I have is different than the 2000 dash I have.
