Does Flowmaster have a "break in " period, to burn the stuff out??

There's no stuff to burn out. It's just empty with some angled baffles to direct sound. It'll smell a little funny for a bit while the oils burn off, but that's standard with any exhaust component.

on our flowmaster, it was dead quiet but u could tell it was there after about 3-4k miles it sounded ALOT better. Whats funny the mechanic said it would tone down.. it did, it got louder too, even my dad, at 67 years old, loves to nail the gas and let the V6 rip.

I have a 96 mustang V6 3.8L and I installed Flowmaster M40 true duals a few days ago, and I have to admit, the first time i cranked it up you could barely hear them. Now they are really breaking out and I have no idea why but im excited to see how loud they are going to get!

A friend of mine has the 95 GT with Magnaflow duals and I have to admit, I expected it to be louder when he cranked it up.

what she said. When I had my flowmaster installed, I found it very hard not to step hard on the gas...

don't know about flowmaster but when i had a magflow...on my scirocco it was about as raspy as canbe. and that sounded good with that engine, but with the dodge magnum v6 i wouldn't want that sound at all. i've have heard some raspy v6's and it just doesn't sound right. the straight through mag. that i put on later sounded pretty deep though. dont know how the straight through would sound on a v6 dak though. when it warms up a little bit here maybe i'll try it and post the results....
