the end of the racks are just lil caps so cutting and shortening shouldnt really be a problem, they just unbolt with a torx bit, you could junk yard some and see where it goes

Yamika (sp?) makes a universal kit that might be more down your alley. You will still have to drill into the roof, but you'll be able to have a basket, bike racks, etc...

wont work i was looking into doing this. the first gen durangos roof rack rails are almost flush with a roof line. a roof line that the dak dose not have. As for the 2nd gen ones they may fit, i just havent looked at one.

Lenght is not an issue, just cut from the center out til correct length is achieved
