Ok, this is for those hunters/quadders:
I am looking at purchasing a quad (Can-Am Outlander Max 800R XT or Can-Am Outlander 800R XT) and am jsut wondering whether or not a QC Dakota could haul it in the bed easily. It is about 870LBS. I also am wondering whether the Outlander Max, which is 96in long, or the Outlander, which is 86in long, would fit lengthwise in the bed. Course, this I can find out jsut by picking up a tape measurem but it's dark right now lol

That's alot of ATV.

FYI, 96 inches is 8 feet. I dont think even a bed extender will help you....

Yeah, I plan on leaving the tailgate down. lol. Our box is 5'3" or 63" with the tailgate up, yeah? So with it down it you would add about 24", yeah?

I haul a 400ex in a cub cab its about 72inch long and have about 5in from tires to tailgate. I would think it would be hanging off edge of tailgate

So, weight isn't an issue then? haha
So I looked here (http://www.allpar.com/trucks/dakota-tech.html), and it doesn't have any specs for the QC, but I know my box is 5'3" Tailgate up, so depth, 17.5", should be the same, yeah? That would give me a tailgate box down length of 80.5"
Also, the quad has a Outlander 800R has a wheelbase of 51" and a length of 86" so total length I would need to fit in the box would be ~68.5" give or take, so, that would be the number that matters, yeah?
The Outlander Max has a wheelbase of 59" and a length of 96", so a length in the box of 77.5".
I am not worried about it hanging out as long as I can get all four tyres in the box so I can haul it withough a trailer.

You'll be fine. Out of curiosity, why are you looking at utility quads instead of sport quads?

Yeah, I will be fine. I jsut took a tape measure and measured my bed with the tailgate down. It's 85.25".
Annnd I was looking at a Renegade, but the sport quads are more for dune running whereas I live in a place full of muskeg and mud. I may still go for a Renegade, but I like having the racks on my quad for those longer trips where I need to pack a few jerry cans of gas

I live in the mountains of pa with a honda 400ex not any sand here. Rocks and mud is all we have It does well with that but if I feel like mudding or riding in deep snow then I ride the honda foreman. Im thinking of buying a 03 polaris 330mag for 400.00(needs like 200 in parts to be like brand new but the owner doesnt know that). I want it so I can snorkel it and mud the hell out of it.

I used to have a Z400. It accelerated so fast that I would get thrown back (fortunately never off) and it scared the crap out of me. Hahaha. Fun times though.

Can-Am? Why would you buy a Canadian piece of $hit... Oh sorry forgot you're from Canada ha. I would buy a Honda. I used to have a Rancher and beat the living hell out of it and it still runs like the day I bough it.
