Default Bosh vs. Denso Alternator. Important?

I need to replace my alternator.
99 Dakota
5.2L V8
The name tag is missing & no markings. The NAPA parts store is telling me I need to know what brand it is.
Is this true?

I dont see how it matters, Im sure there is a difference but Id assume that either would work. But Id wait for someone else to confirm that lol

it's probably a denso.. call a dealership with your vin.. see what those useless idiots can do for you
