When you ask if I have a spark, are you meaning ignition coil or plugs?

The ignition coil is reading a resistance of ~1 with my voltmeter.

Do you have spark at the plugs?

What's the secondary resistance on the coil? That's the primary side judging by your reading and is within spec.

I do have spark at the plugs. I won't be able to test secondary resistance until later this evening.
Would my fuel pump prime even if my pcm wasn't communicating with the cluster?

If you have spark at the plugs odds are the coil is fine. It should be a nice bright blue?

The PCM turns on the fuel pump relay when you turn the key ON but it will turn it off unless it's running or cranking after a few seconds.

Try this, unplug your crank position sensor and see if the the "no bus" goes away.

Yep, plugs are sparkin up just fine.

'No bus' still comes up with crank sensor disconnected. Just for more info I can also add that my abs and regular 'brake' light come on with the 'no bus'. Not sure if this helps at all!

How about the fuel pump? Do you hear it?

If you have spark, all you need is fuel and it should fire up. Give it a shot of starting fluid and see what it does.

The ABS light is likely on as a result of the no bus message. It will come on with a communications error.

Do you want to check the 5 volt supplies? On the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors, pin #3, the orange wire should be +5v. Pin #2, the black with light blue wire is the sensor ground.

On the MAP, pin #3, again the orange wire is +5v. Pin #1, black with light blue tracer, is the ground.

It really looks like either something is shorting out the PCI bus, and it can be any module on it, like the CAB, PCM, CTM, Airbag, console, TCM, etc.

I have previously checked the 5v supply on my sensors and they seem to all be in working order.

My fuel pump does not prime on the switch of the ignition.

Swap out the fuel pump relay in the PDC with one of the others.

Disconnect the cam position sensor if you haven't. It controls the fuel sync and could short out.

After that, I'd be looking at the PCM as it should be turning on the fuel pump. I can't see it being a wiring problem.

So... With cam and crank sensors disconnected and my ignition engaged, it should still prime my fuel system?
If i'm reading you correctly.

The idea is to eliminate something that can kill the PCM.

Your PCM should be priming the system at key on.
