Exclamation Loss of Power. Any suggestions???

I recently changed the plugs and map sensor thinking that may have been the problem. Seems to be a little low on the power side of things and if i put it in reverse and gas it, it seems to "jump" or "hop" a couple times then gets up and goes. But if i back up to a parking stop with wheels up against it and give it gas, it seems to have a hard time to get over it, just thought that was kind of not right. Also i am only getting 13-14 mpg. Any suggestions on what this could be? Trans seems to be fine, no slipping and rpm's do not rev up and shifts fine. Its a 3.7L v6

Could this be a camshaft position sensor? Also i have a oil leak from valve cover but i dont think that would cause a power loss due to it just being the valve cover gasket.

Check for codes. With the key off, turn it to RUN (don't start it), OFF, back to RUN, OFF, then leave it in RUN. Codes will display in the odometer window. PDONE will show when its finished.

A bad MAP sensor can cause all this. What plugs did you put in?

Unfortunately not everything trips a code.

How long has it been doing this?

It could be a bad O2 sensor as well.

On the highway it shifts fine but when i get up to speed it seems to drop real low in rpm (like around 1000) and seems almost like a "bogging down" but obviously its not carbureted, just trying to throw all this out there to try to narrow it down

Sounds like a clogged cat or muffler to me if the cat can be easily removed try it and see what happens.

I'm thinking you may have more than one problem
