99 dakota door problem
Drivers side door will not open from the inside. From outside is ok. The rod that goes from the inside handle to the opening mechanism is no longer attached to the inside handle so when the inside handle is pulled, nothing happens. It appears that the plastic piece that the rod attaches to has broken. I'm trying to figure out what part I need. Any help appreciated.

Your best bet is to go to a junkyard and pull it yourself. Just grab the entire inner assembly and decide it you wanna take it apart just for the part you need or just replace the whole thing.
I know what part you're speaking of, you may even get by with some contact cement but I wouldn't recommend it as the first option.

It may be that the locking tab that secures the rod has broken and the rod slipped out. In that case, a zip tie will work fine. The problem now is, getting the door open. Don't know if you can access the rod by hooking it through the window slot or you'll have to drill a hole through the door panel. Others may have a better idea

Door Problem
Well, I attempted to glue the broken part (the part that the clip attaches to) but did not hold. I think I have located a replacement door handle. Now I need to get the old one out. Looks like there are some plastic rivets holding it. Do I drill them out and if so how do I attach the replacement? I could be looking at this all wrong. any suggestions appreciated.
