Do not use ATF+4 which is MS9602 fluid.
There is a TSB out on the power steering fluid. TSB 19-005-03. With it comes LOTS of confusion. It is specific enough to state that "MS9602 should not be mixed or used as a “topping off” fluid on systems requiring MS5931"
Use MS5931 fluid - power steering fluid. That's what your truck came with OEM and is the approved "service fluid."

oodakdan, The manuel on mine says P/N 04883077 fluid, but I was wondering cause the guy on line said to drain the steering fluid then flush it out with some of the AFT+4 then fill it with AFT +4, and it should be all right. I am having trouble finding the P/N 04883077 fluid. So I am stuck right now, lol!

It doesn't have to be Mopar fluid but must say meets Mopar MS5931 spec.

Lots of people do use ATF+4 but that is not how I read the TSB. It says "some past models" and does not list the 1994-2001 Dakota. You won't go wrong with the MS5931.
