Question weird noise

I have a 03 v8 Dakota, I have recently been hearing a high pitched sequel come from my truck, it sounds like it is come from underneath my cab. It only happens when I accelerate from a stop.

Under the cab? Maybe an exhaust leak?

Are you sure it isn't under the hood? Bad tensioner maybe?

I agree with 00DakDan here. Sounds like a new tensioner and belt may be in order.

With the engine at idle, watch the tensioner for bounce or any movement at all; there should be no "real" movement. If it bounces, then it's bad.

Report back if it's steady, then we'll direct you to a better place to look.

Good luck!

I checked it out the only thing that is moving the slightest bit, is the bottom pulley.

Do you mean the one on the crank? Is it slipping?

If you can gas the engine by hand while under the hood and repeat the noise, you can spray WD-40 on the belt/area to see if that is the cause. Otherwise, you can spray WD-40, get in and drive, to see if the sound has immediately stopped.
