2000 dakota 4.7L 4x4 auto: tranny leaked, replaced gasket n filter, repaired coolant line . now it slips a lil at start-off, takes longer time to engage. n reving in gear longer. higher rpm like over 3k up slight incline
"gasket n filter" - you mean filters, plural right?
Did you use MOPAR filters? There are LOTS of problems with aftermarket filters not sealing correctly. You'll get air in the system and have all sorts of problems.
yes i still drive it. just around town few times. i put gasket n filter 1st time n it fell off with the ring on it. 2nd time it seemed to have stayed on with the threaded grooves on it. that when i found out coolant line leaking. n ran fluid out hole n fixed
Ok mopar gasket , primary filter , n tsb. Need replace cooler return gasket also? I just rubber hosed inch or two of rusted cooler line. N use mopar fluid also?
You use what>>?? I'm never speaking to you again ROFL.. JK
I used Supertech when i couldnt find any Valvoline and had no problems, I used the supertech fluid for Filling and Draining the Trans/Ps to get all the nasty old fluid out. It was $4.79 +/- compared to Valvoline $6.89 a Qt. Sadly Walfart doesn't carry Valvoline ATF+4
Would I use tranny filter n gasket for v6 1995 Dakota n ATF+4 also?!'
I think you can, or you can use Castrol Import multi Vehicle $5.39 qt, It says it meets the ATF+3 spec. Choice is yours. I know the Castrol is cheaper than Valvoline ATF+4 $7.19 qt but if you want ATF+4 you can get Supertech ATF+4 from walfart for $4.27 qt
