Question Truck running cold and figure it out.

i got a check engine light for temp being to low and noticed the engine was getting to normal operation temp. so i figure it was probably the thermostat getting stuck open so i changed the thermostat.so i worked fine for a week but now its back again. is it possible to be the thermostat again or do u think it might be a sensor just screwing with me? or maybe anything else that u guys might think would cause this?

btw engine is 4.7L and the code i have is P1281

What brand thermostat? It could be defective.

Yes it could be the sensor too. What's the gauge read? Does it "appear" normal?

I had gotten the thermo from Napa so as for what brand I don't remember off the top of my head. As for does it look normal no it stops just below the first line as is warming up.

It's probably the thermostat. Get one from Dodge. Lots of aftermarket parts are having problems lately.
