Default New Shoes - And new wheel color!

This has been a bad year for tires. Our '11 challenger needed new shoes earlier this year. I discovered my 73 wagoneer needs a new set of 33's pretty badly, my our 69 nova's tires are 12 years old....and of course my dakota needed new shoes before winter as well.

Decided to be a responsible adult and order tires for my "real" vehicle since it'll be driven more so in the winter.

I put some coil over shocks on the back which gave me about 3/4" lift, then cranked the front end up about 3/4" as well. Ordered a set of Kumho's Road Venture AT51 (I think) which are their new kinda mild AT's that were something like $112 each plus a $120 rebate. Given that this truck likely wont see 8000 miles a year, I went with the lowest bidder on tires. 265/75r16. Cant argue with $365 out the door for a set of tires. So far they ride nice and smooth on the highway and surface streets, have a mildly aggressive tread (less agressive than a BFG AT) that should do well on the light trails and camping trips I take it on.

Probably doesn't look much different than stock but holy crap it feels different. Feels higher for sure. My speedometer is now off by 9% (I was wondering why everybody was driving so slow!) but I'm used to that from the lifted jeeps.

I've been ordering my tires online for the past few years.. Got 32x1150'15's for my dakota online for 145 a tire and they were bfg at's.. Was super happy with them.. Also just ordered toyo open country a/t's for my ram at 199 a tire for 285/75/16.. I like saving as much money as I can but also believe you get what you pay for.. I plow with my truck so needed a tire that will wear good!

Either way for what you do im sure those tires will get the job done fine..Cant beat them for the price thats for sure

I've had kumhos in the past and they all were fine. I'm hopeful that these will be as well. Normally shipping offsets the cost of orderng online though. Cool thing about Reno is there is a te rack warehouse here so I can just go pick em up for no charge.

That being said discount tire will also match any price you find so I guess I won't really need to order the next set online
