New Member - Question about tires.
It's great to have found this cite. Lots of good information.
This weekend I bought a 2003 Quad Cab Sport 2WD, 3.9, 120,000 miles, salvage title, $1900. No leaks, passed our emissions test (Phoenix), runs fine, clean interior with no rips or tears, cold AC, 3 body dents to resolve, needs a paint job and new tires. Otherwise runs fine and it was cheap enough not to be concerned about the salvage title.
I'm a little bit Mopar and a little bit Ford. My daily driver is a 2008 Crown Vic and my collectibles are a 1996 Viper and a 1966 Thunderbird Convertible. After the Crown Vic, Viper, and T-Bird, the last thing I wanted was another black vehicle to keep clean but fate played its hand and here I am with 4 of them.
The Dakota will be a back up vehicle. I'm not an off-roader and my days of hauling stuff around are over so the truck will be a light duty vehicle.
That brings me to my question about tires.
I'd like the truck to sit a bit lower than it does and I'm thinking a smaller diameter tire might help.
The current tires are 245/70R16 with a diameter of 29.5 inches.
Has anybody had any success running a smaller tire like maybe a diameter of 25 inches?
And what size tire would that be?
