Does it crank and run with the new PCM?
Stick the old one back in and see if you still get these codes.
It is possible that the CKP you bought was bad.
Whatever happened to that melted connector and the two mystery plugs?
What all has been replaced? (Long thread, short memory!)
Do you have a working cluster now?

Hi Friar,

So the truck runs with the 5.9 PCM in it which is for a van. It starts with the other PCM for 5.2 Dakota but autozone ran codes and got p1391 and p0320 for bad crankshaft sensor. I am going to put another new one in.

Lightbulb 5.2 pcm

The connector pin on the 5.2 PCM for the CKP signal may be damaged or have a cold solder joint on the board, or the PCM may just be bad.
It's CONNECTOR A (C173) PIN 8.

Is connector A the one towards the front of vehicle, not the one towards the back of truck? I am gonna try to put in new CKP tomorrow. I also have a new cam position sensor but will wait to put in. I think the 5.2 PCM is good but just gut feeling. The kid said it was good and said he would refund me if I had any problems.

I was afraid you'd ask! I'll see if I can find out.

Here's what I have:
Connector 173 (A) is black
Connector 174 (B) is white
Connector 175 (C) id gray

These are the colors of the jacks on the PCM, not the harness connectors.

So, it's been a while. Still haven't fixed the problem but talked to a mechanic that specializes in this stuff. He said I have the wrong computer. He told me to call the dealer with the VIN and they will give me the part number. I did. Dealer wants $650. for a PCM. He said I can order it from autozone. I haven't yet but it was around $320 from them. Just haven't had the $$ to spend on it yet. But this will be my next approach.

Update: problem is fixed. I bought the remod PCM and put it in and it worked. My gauges work. Gas, speedo, tach, oil, battery, and odometer. No engine light either. I got some lights on though I'd like to get off such as the ABS, brake, security, part time 4wd,
