Well, I went to the Dodge dealer today and got some interesting info. I was told that the part number for my flywheel is #53020688 however the sales person said that it was brought in that model year and then phased out the same year. He said that the 2001 flywheel is revision (b) of the same part number, yet he said he showed NO other models that use the same flywheel as the 2000. He did say that chances are if I used a 2001 flywheel with 2001 clutch kit it most likely work, but obviously he could not guarantee it. Lastly, he said no warehouse in north America had one available and if he did they would be $465 CDN.
Some secret and not good news for you thank you Mopar.
So many parts are becoming hard to find or just no longer available for our gen of Dakota it sucks. My 98 Dakota has some exclusive 98 only parts 97 to 2000 was rapid change time for the Dakota.
Yeah not cool Mopar. I guess my next question would be, what flywheel have people successfully stuck in there? I'm sure that someone will have replaced it with the superseded part number.
Here's a question what flywheel is truly on your engine now you said it was used not more than a few months? You may need to see if their are part numbers on your flywheel.
