Default Engine Noise - 2004

I have a 4.7L engine with only 75K miles on it and it has a knock/tapping noise. they are saying I need a new engine.
It only has 75K miles on it. this cant be normal. is there a warranty?

No, your warranty is long expired. Take it somewhere else for another opinion.

No it's not normal for any engine to die. Was run low on oil or overheated? What is the history?

I have an 04 with the V8 and 105,000 miles. I have just recently heard a noise I cant quite figure out. I am thinking it may be the timing chain. Does your noise increase or decrease when you give it gas, go away after it warms up, only happen at a particular RPM ?
