Default distrbutor removal,lol

I took the distributor out and I have replaced a lot of distributors before, but when it came to the dodge dakota 3.9, all I have to say is: what a joke! Way in the back of the engine, down allmost a foot and every thing in the way The moron that designed that should be hung.

Well it should never need removing plus distributors rarely go bad plus you cant change the timing by the distributor these days thats the PCM's job.

Default didtributor removel

I had to take it out. My son put a new cap on and he snapped the screw off in
the distributor housing.

OK the problem you may now face is even if you get it back in 100% correct the timing may be out of faze seen it happen a number of times on this forum.

You really don't want to mess with the distributor at all in a computer controlled car.

You may be OK but

Default distributor

We will know shortly. It's all in. I'm going to put the plug wires on in a little while. I hope it goes ok. I really didn't want to take it out, but I had to.

It worked out good. It runs good. You had me worried for a while, but thanks for the reply.

It's really the fuel sync that gets messed up. Hopefully it's back in the same place or he may have odd performance issues with the truck.

I marked where the rotor pointed to and when I put it back in, that's where she was pointed. I took a 10 mile ride. It ran good, hopefully it will be ok. Does not know how to use punctuation and capital letters.
