Default Running 265/75 instead of 265/70

Anyone ever done it? Saw a Dak by me today with 265/75's and it looked a bit better than the 265/70's, filled in a bit more. Doubt there is any clearance issues, just wondering if anyone has ever run them.

Also how many guys still run the stock Goodyear Wrangler RT/S on your truck? Any other preferable tires for our trucks?

Have been looking at Hankook Dynapro ATM's and Falken Wildpeak's, but the stock GY RT/S is the cheapest option.

Thanks.

Firestone Destination are preferred by many. I run the /70 A/T and they rub at full turn and full stuff, nothing detrimental (full stuff does tear up the outside of the tread blocks).

Thanks magnethead. Is this on your 4X2 Dak? Mine is 4X4, so should have a bit more clearance, that's why I figured a /75 would be no problem. Definitely looks better than the /70.

yes on the 4x2, but it's a V6 with V8 front springs for a little front lift. You can probably tweak the torsion bars a little and make 75's fit, it's not much difference, think 1/4" or so on the top (1/2 total?)

Looks like a 75 is a full inch taller than a 70, not sure that will work in the front, back is no issue. In the back 70's look like a donut on my truck, reason I wanted to try 75's.

More worried about rubbing under full turn than anything else.

that's based on the P metric, i've found it's not always accurate (rolling radius, among other reasons). Only real way to tell is find one mounted up and measure.

My 70's rub at full turn on the backside of both front fenders. Front side clears.

I ran a 32x10.50x15 on my 98.. Which is close to the same size as you are talking about. Def looked a lot better with the little bigger tires on it.. I did crank the torsion bars to get it to look level also. I ran 2 sets of bfg at's on mine and it did very well with them.. Right now im running toyo open country at2's on my ram and they are a great tire also! They were cheaper then the bfg's I was looking at getting..

Thanks to you both. I have plenty of room at full turn with the 70's, gonna measure how much room there is at full turn between tire and anywhere it could touch.

My front end is pretty high already, I've never cranked the torsions on it, but maybe a PO did, it sits at the same height as the back pretty much. Does cranking them up affect the ride at all, stiffer or anything?

Yeah cranking them will make the ride a little stiffer but I didnt notice a huge difference.. If your front is level with the rear id say the p.o most likely altered the torsion bars..
