Default taking off the cats

I have a 2002 Dakota with the 4.7L in it and I've bagged and body dropped it by fabbing up new frame rails and had to trim and refabricate the firewall behind the front tires to make room for my rolling stock when layed out. My problem is this, due to the extensive mods to the frame and firewall and huge 22's stuffed up front in order to lay the frame on the ground I've had to raise my whole exhaust system up and now there isn't really room for the cats with the big wheels, can I leave them out or is that going to cause all kinds of problems with turning on dash lights? Thanks guys.

On my 4.7 I cut the cat out and just put a piece on pipe, and it didnt turn dashlights on.
