Default Durango Center Caps

Anyone else had an issue with losing center caps? I have an '04 Durango SLT and have lost 3 center caps so far. I have suspected that they were just stolen but thought I would check to see if other owners had a chronic problem with them "falling off." Thanks for your time.

By the way, my local dealer wanted $25 per cap! I found them on eBay at about $10 a piece (new, in packaging) from a great Dodge dealer in Virginia.

The 04 Durangos are having a problem with the caps falling off. I thought I could go to the newer style center caps, but was wrong. They actually redesigned the center off the wheel to be deeper to accept the new centers. These new centers don't fall off. Unfortunatly, we can't use these. From what I've heard, people have be attaching the caps with silicone. They said it works. The problem is the caps plastic grips are too shallow and with heat from the brakes they eventually fall out.
Hope that helps.

steve, having worked at a dodge dealership, i saw alot of guys buying new center caps...and even the techs suggested some clear silicone to hold them on...and after that, just keep an eye on them...and check to see if it is getting dry/hard and cracking.

I paid for two before I used silicone on my Ram. I removed the wheels on my new Durango and applied a little silicone to be safe.

Yes: I have replaced them as they fit too loose! Wrap electrical tape or duct tape around them for a tighter fit. This will help from loosing them. I paid 18 at the dealer.
