Hi all,

I'm looking at buying a 2008 Durango, 4.7, Flex Fuel for my wife.

The used car lot says it's AWD, but I don't see any AWD signage on the exterior, nor is there any kind of Hi-Lo control or anything on the dash.

Is there an easy way to verify that it truly is AWD vs. 2WD?

There should be a selector wheel to the left of the steering wheel (atleast it is on my 2007 Hemi) that has the option for AWD, 4lock and 4lo.

The 4wheel hi lo is an option, I have a 2008 and its AWD and has no *****, shift levers or anything. All computer controlled. Just look under the front chin spoiler it will have a differential up front and axles.

 

Get under it and verify it has a drive shaft going from the rear diff to the front diff. But yes, 4.7's had an optional AWD only system with no 4HI. It splits the power 48% to the front and 52% to the rear wheels.

helped me determine it was AWD. It had a "B" for the 5th #.
