Default '04 towed by car dolly - Rear Drive line removal

Hello everyone,
I am a new poster to the forum but a long time follower. I pose a simple question to everyone. I am moving a significant distance across multiple states and need to haul my 04 Durago limited (awd) on a front wheel car dolly. I know with AWD's I will need to disconnect the rear drive shaft from the axel. Is this a difficult process? Anyone have any instructions or a link to where a guy could get some? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
Durangofan14

why not just put it in nuetral and disconect the battery.. then all you have to do is re-atache the terminal and drive off.. easier then pulling a driveshaft.. but if thats what you want.. its simple just unbolt it at the rear end and pull it out of the yoke of trans case..

Thanks for the info. I was told I would have to disconnect the drive shaft because it was an awd. So just neutral and disconnecting the battery posts will allow the rear tire to freely spin?

yes.. while in nuetral all drive train is in nuetral.. if in any gear it would effect the rotation of the front to rear movement..
